What is a good JCBA?
So what does a good CBA generally include? It is not my intention to negotiate the JCBA on this forum but to find out if others feel the way I do on what some minimum items should be. What do you think?
I will vote no on any JCBA that does not include all of the following. These are my personal demands. This is not all I want either.
1. The removal of retained management rights in the CBA. For those that are unfamiliar with “retained management rights” in the CBA. It means unless it is strictly forbidden in the CBA the company can do what it wants. This is not an intrinsic right of the company. Why give it away?
2. Trip rigs and duty rigs. .
3. Extra pay for red-eyes.
4. Extra pay for working holidays.
5. Extra pay for special qualification airports (i.e. UIO, TGU, BOG, ect)
6. Our days off to be our days off. No such thing as a moveable day.
7. Training be done on work days and not on our days off and I demand we be paid the same in the simulator as on the airplane.
8. Work one duty period a day. No coming in from a red-eye in the morning to be sent out later that same day. No double pumping of reserves or line holders. No double pumps on lines.
I am sure there are other things that should be a minimum to be included in the next JCBA. The specifics and compensation should be worked out by the negotiators. I hear that a lot has been accomplished by our union in moving towards a JCBA. I hope that is true. We shall see.

I hope so- that way mgt scum can appreciate how inept they are relative to the aviation greats that organized this industry. 40 years ago, mgt was composed of astronauts, war heros and aviation pioneers. Now we have weak (morally), corrupt, short sighted managers that offer NO real value to the operation. RELEASE US NOW!!!!!!!!

Significant improvements in all sections, with outstanding improvement to scope (domestic and international), work rules, and pay.
Full retro pay (no signing bonuses!) which includes back-contributions to retirement funds from the amendable date forward.
