Awesome! We have got to take back the profession and get paid big money again.

Excellent question.

Mr. Otto'...

Who cares? It appears your intended track of this thread is to compromise adult professionalism and basic tenets of the ALPA Code-of-Ethics.

My apology if I'm wrong.

It's an observation of the current climate at my airline. Merely an observation. I've seen guys want to invite Lorenzo up to the flight deck. I've seen guys want to buy Lorenzo a drink at the layover hotel. Now, I see guys giving Jeff the finger at the airport. Now, I see Jeff getting asked to leave the pit.

All I am saying is: I think things aren't right in pilot land, and I think the vast majority have figured out "if Jeff's lips are moving he's lying."

There is nothing in the ALPA code of ethics that requires or requests that you give your CEO an "atta boy" when he enters your office to tell you to "take another one for the team, suck it up and be happy with his offer."

All this management team does is directly negotiate with the pilots and they do this by going around the NC by lowering your expectations. Some of these very SAME managers are also ALPA pin wearing individuals, but yet they have no problem wearing their check airman hat preaching to you why you had better suck it up and accept an 18% pay raise or the sky will fall.

No where did I say "don't be professional." Quite the contrary. Be professional, be by the book, be deliberate, and be thoughtful and prudent. But, don't suck up to Jeffey! No reason at all to sit there on the flight deck and take his bull that he is shoveling.

Riddle me this: why would Jeffey waste his precious CEO 700 dollar a minute pay raise to talk to his fellow co-workers who are busy doing more important things.............

Don't speak to the tyrant. He's a proven liar and there is nothing to be gained from his "information".
I haven't had co-widget Smisek on any of my flights but if I did, let him into the cockpit, listen plenty and say little.

Know thy enemy.

An excellent suggestion. In early 2003, Delta CEO Leo Mullin visited our cockpit and talked about bankruptcy, specifically noting that "UAL waited too long". At that point, I knew we would also file BK, and took an early retirement that year. The actual filing didn't come until 2005, but I never regretted my decision. His statement, and the way he said it, was more informative than a hundred business journals and a thousand rumors.
