I would like to know if the CAL MEC were only "listeners" and/or if they had the chance to ask questions. I would like to know if ALPA legal was there, or if we were smart enough to out-source that. I would like to know if the CAL MEC was in session via confernece call and if any motions were made, seconded, and voted upon. I would like to know of the actual outcomes of the meeting.

Sounds like you need to A) call your reps, or B) get elected to the MEC for that info. If ever there was a meeting that would be closed, I'm sure this was it. You don't broadcast your battle plans before the fight.

You still didn't answer my question. What exactly did you take exception to in the letter that was posted? It's not a trick question, I'm just trying to figure out what is disagreeable.

I'd imagine that not being able to get all CAL MEC members on the phone for the most critical briefing of most of their careers is frustrating. Time is of the essence.

Why doesn't Pierce and his MEC loyalists come out in favor of the plan? Why the constant delay? Because the plan would actually work!

Why didn't the UAL MEC not involve the CAL MEC in this great plan?
Why didn't JH notify JP on April 10th, when they were together WITH Lee Moak in Chicago for the Family Awareness get together?

Anytime a letter or post comes out without someone putting their name to it.. I will be vary of it. Man up~
And if you're reposting someone's letter without putting your name to it.. same applies.

Your conditional acceptance doesn't change the truth.

First, I don't even know if this was a real letter by a real person who was really there.

Second, shame on the CAL MEC if they were not there. I mean 100 percen there. That to me is more embarassing than a lack of communications from the MEC Chairman.

Third, I haven't heard from CA. Happner either, so I can't confirm anything. Still in the dark

Fourth, If a big cheese meeting took place, and there is a perceived or real disconnect, no way will the pilots be able to act or react unless we know what the problems are. It may be a tightly closed meeting and for very good reason, but at the end of the day, if ALPA wants 12,000 UAL pilots manning a picket line, we need to be brought along in the communicatios process. We need to be highly informed.

Fifth, There is a recall brewing in EWR right now. Those guys represent about 2000 CAL pilots. Those 2 reps definitely support JP. I perceive the recall is a play at taking out JP at a critical time, which is definitely their right under the ALPA CBL. But, I wonder if this meeting (anonymous letter) is related in some way. The "recallers" as it were are very low-class individuals with a track record of "me-me-me" instead of "we-we-we."

Sixth, How would I know what I could disagree with in the letter unless I was there personally to witness the meeting and testify to the letter's validity?

Actually you are wrong there.

If the reps want to make 2000 plus phone calls then that is great. I don't think an ALPA rep has the time to do that.

An effective mass communications program to a large number of people precludes doing just what you propose. Everything that the pilots need to know should be able to be received by the ALPA COM system, or by the SPSC phone tree.

The problem is when you talk to a rep, you get a different story from each rep. A further problem is when 5 pilots talk to the same rep, each pilot gets a slightly different story. I see reps trying to "play to the pilot". Especially true if there is a personal relationship/friendship involved. I just want the facts........dats it.

Simple tactics, they would involve them, just at the right time and with all players present. Cant have a meeting with two people bc its. He said she said type afterward. Plus they can get the cal mecon board , put pressure on jp. And if mgmnt finds out, we know that jp isfeeding the info.

Im noticing lots of similarities on how TSA worked and how the ual is playing this

Skippy.. you forget one thing.
There was a meeting of "two people" with Lee Moak in attendance a week ago that resulted in a Joint Statement.
However, that meeting could have also taken place on the 10th of April when all parties were also together.

What "Truth"?
It's the opinion of some unknown author. Nothing more, nothing less.
