I DEMAND a letter in response to Jeff - from the Pilots (MEC) by the end of the business day tomorrow. My costs just went up. Again.

He's desperate to get the relaxation of scope.

I hope so. I can't freaking believe the DAL union boys think opening the can more is an acceptable idea. This profession is freaking tanked...

^ Amen..
What was it, a week ago that everyone was Rah Rah that DALPA had a TA with their management?! How great they were and how screwed up our own Union was.. not to mention our management?

Seems like the Delta gang is willing to sell out the lower half of the seniority list, and also screw the RJ guys even more. Just to get a few pieces of silver.

If this deal passes, you will see more 70/76 seaters flown by the lowest cost feeder out there (probably at 50 seat rates!) and then you'll see mainline park the 75's and replace them with big 73's. At a lower payrate though~
And of course, it will make it harder for us to hold the line.

Sick what has happened to this profession

We need to pay attention to TWO things..........very important.

1. Scope

2. Age 67

You read that right. This career has gone no-where because of the relaxation of scope language and the out-sourcing of our labor. When we out-source flying jobs that means your seniority number only goes up when someone dies or retires. If you are a 20 year Co-pilot, that means you will be a 23 year co-pilot soon if we give away more jobs to the regionals. Jeff was quoated as saying "If ALPA wanted to fly the 70 seaters for free our answer would be no." This merger was all about scope relaxation. Jeff would be happy to have 50 year old RJ Captains making 75K a year all day long and 14K a year new hire's from Embry Riddle that pay for training as his FO's.

Age 67. yep........The push is already on. The grey-beards aren't happy with age 65, going for 67 as a jumping off point to push for age 70. Looks like another 5 years until we see some movement on the seniority list folks. I think ALPA will cave again on this one. The over 65 instructors will likely get grand-fathered in somehow. Probably got about 20 of those right now.
