Why don't you let the UCAL ALPA determine the definition of struck work.

The reason I would not want ucal to make that determination is during the last strike the definition kept changing during the strike!

When is the last time ALPA made a clear decision on struck work or anything controversial for that matter? The new boss is a lot like the old boss, making lots of money vs average line pilots and getting nothing done for the rank and file. Time to step up Captain Moak, we are all watching.

It is time to draw the line, vote to strike. But be just be aware that UA ALPA has a history of not telling the whole truth and not honoring promises made. It happened to the 570 back in 1985 with "we wont go back to work without you" promise, to allowing pilots who crossed in 85 but didnt "turn a wheel" ALPA membership. It happened with the ESOP, post bankruptcy stock allocation and bond issue. Be prepared. Prepare your family especially. Striking is not fun, in fact it sucks, one of the worst things I have ever gone through. You thought bankruptcy was bad, wait until the 3rd week of a strike when no paycheck is coming, you see friends crossing the line and your wife says "OK tuff guy how are we going to pay the mortgage and feed the family". That is when you see cracks in the unity. You see friends cross and United planes flying. WE wont shut United down totally with the ability to transfer pax to USAir, regional partners, and STAR partners. With the scabs already at United from 85 and Continental from 83 some of United planes will be flying from the beginning of the strike. Vote yes, but just realize what you are empowering the MEC with and be ready, ready to walk away. You may never come back. Are you ready for that.

so...you 570 guys saved the airline or just saved the association?

I am ready for that. Spent half of my time at United on furlough.....6 out of 12 years. What's the difference? I found other work. I fed my family. I am not afraid. I will burn this mother down. You guys want to keep working under these conditions? Do it without me.
