I've been told that the wonderful SHARES system won't allow agents to choose seats for non-revs or Jumpseaters. As they call non-revs in seniority order, they are forced to fill from the back of the plane ?! I'm sure this could be easily fixed if there were ANY sort of concern for us peons at the higher levels.....
Another Jeff-ed up thing to add to the list. liquid |
I won't call BS on your CAL comments as our J/S clearing system absolutely sucks but I do make the walk on every flight and make sure Jumpseaters are accommodated. We don't leave until they are comfortably onboard, period.
As for First Class, if there is an open seat, you will be in it on my flights. Always have operated that way and only once been challenged by a FA. The FA and I had a private little chat in the cockpit and viola', Captain-1, F/A-0. As a side note the FOM was recently changed to match the UAL version so its completely legit for our Milquetoast Captains to now place Jumpseaters up front if they dare. |
