Yes; his reputation, not our well-being

From the EWR CP email....looks like somebody gonna get in trouble.

Bogus Magenta Line: Last week all of you received a very realistic forgery of the Magenta Line that the EWR LEC normally puts out. While I always stay away from union and political subjects in this blastmail, I feel a certain sense of responsibility for you receiving this information. It appears the email addresses that were used were taken from my blastmail distribution list, most likely as a result of my failure to blind copy my email addresses in my blastmail last month. As you can imagine, I am rather upset that my distribution list was used to provide you with bogus information. I am working with Corporate Security to track down the person responsible.

Looks like the EWR CP should be the very 1st one to get in trouble over this... That was just Incredibly Stupid on his part not to use Bcc with the EWR pilot email list.

Absolutely. Privacy violation. Corporate security violation. This was a rookie mistake. We need five different passwords to access all that we need to do our jobs, yet a senior manager blasts everyone's email out there and HE'S indignant?

I disagree.............while he bears SOME responsibility for this, the person/persons who used this information need to be fired immediately. They KNEW what they were doing was WRONG, took information that was not intended for them, and tried to create bogus information and disperse it. They don't deserve to be at UCH, on our seniority list, or even have the title of PILOT. I hope they catch whomever did this and make their life a living hell. Seriously, aren't we "big boys" yet? As for the CP behind this, he's one of the best around and a REAL pilot advocate. I'd take him over the rest ANY day. Be careful what you ask for.................... JMHO............

Spoken like a truly compromised "inside the beltway wanna-be".

I on the other hand, found great humor in reading the piece. It brought to light many ironies and failures in ALPA representation that smart the dues payers. How is what this perpetrator did any worse than what the 21 names on the "A list" of the Fagone report did? Or what many of our other historical reps have done by leaving in the midst of things for management jobs?

As for the CP, not even sure if his self commissioned communiqué (which he wrote for many years as ACP) is or particularly was even ever part of his job description. He is the one that compiled the email list and often talked about it's security, because he was the only custodian of the list. If this was a Japanese corporation, he'd have already committed Hara-Kiri.

I say we give everyone a pass except you. The CP, for being only human after all and the person(s) who wrote the funny, albeit fraudulent children of the corn publication for being far more truthful than malicious.
