Default New Hire Pay in UAL JCBA TA

New Hire Pay in UAL JCBA TA

I saw this question asked, not sure if it has been answered.

"B" scale (for CAL) eliminated.

Insurance immediately.

New hire pay rate all aircraft DOS 60.92

If you go to Guam and commit to stay for 18 months - second year pay immediately. Guam base also has $3000 a month allowance

Second year pay 737-800 DOS $93.52
Second year pay 737-700 DOS $89.63

On 1/1/14

New hire Pay $66.10

Second year pay 737-800 $101.47
Second year pay 737-700 $97.25

Work Rules and Scheduling section add a minimum of 800 new pilots on the CAL side.

Plan is to hire 60 month indefinitely

Also, company paid hotel during initial new-hire training. This an improvement compared to L-UAL, not sure about CAL.

CAL currently pays new hire hotels. But the elimination of the "B" scale years 2 through 5 - almost double the year one pay rate and insurance from day one makes the first year more palatable.

The JCBA creates 800 new jobs on the CAL side due to the major work rule and scheduling section improvements.

The 800 new jobs will be filled a combination of new hires and furloughed United pilots. At present Continental has gone through the entire UAL list and offered class dates at Continental. Now they can hire off the street. As long as the furloughed UAL pilots haven't said no twice, they can ask to placed in any upcoming CAL new hire class. Hope this answers your question.

Would the $3000 a month for Guam be tax free?

I'll check but I believe it's taxable income.

Thanks I'm really hoping to get on and would love to do a stint in Guam before having kids.
