Fear not, our CAL brethren. There is little support for what UAL ALPA has done for our own pilots since I have been on the property. The last thing most UAL pilots would want is a continuance of the ALPA leadership debacle we have experience.

Heppner I don't know anything about. We will have to wait and see how things work out. But he has been there a long tome and I find it hard to believe he was not part of the problem.

Want a good laugh? Next time you see a couple UAL pilots at work, ask them what the "hat switch" was all about.

I would recommend, if we do end up one, big, slightly unhappy family that we do a Saddam style leadership purge, and start over from scratch.

There won't be an "L-UAL side" (or an L-CAL side for that matter) after the merger. That's why it's called a merger.

That's a rough way to show up for work for the rest of your career. After our bankruptcy journey, grumbling doesn't do any good except to eat away at you.

I was hoping to hear that Alpa would be gone after this merger is complete...maybe take the ball back, ya know.

Looks like Pete's gotta babysitter....

Jeff named chairman of board of directors; announces senior leadership realignment
We announced Thursday that our board of directors named Jeff chairman of the board effective Dec. 31, 2012. Transition of the chairmanship at this time was part of our 2010 merger agreement.
In addition, we announced a realignment of our senior management team as we shift to our post-integration phase.

Jim Compton assumes the position of vice chairman and chief revenue officer. Jim will oversee both operations and the traditional revenue side of United’s business. Pete McDonald, EVP and chief operations officer, will report directly to Jim.

Jeff Foland will oversee the airline’s marketing and loyalty, technology, strategy and customer experience groups as EVP marketing, technology and strategy.

For complete details, see our news release.

I agree...my grumbling will be private between the wifey and I, and she won't listen to much of it.

Cheers...

Thank goodness. Finally, someone who can fire the CEO.
