Ipads

Did I miss a company memo or something?

In todays Pravda (United Update) it said "
We had plenty of firsts this year, as well as wonderful big and small ideas that popped up everywhere. For example, we became the first major network carrier to provide all pilots with Apple iPads, saving nearly 16 million sheets of paper and 326,000 gallons of jet fuel a year."

So, are we now using these IPADS? Mine doesn't do doodeley squat. I've got like 3 revisions to do, so if I can blow that off then great.

I don't quite think we're saving 16 million sheets of paper, nor 326,000 gallsons of jet fuel right now are we?

Nope.......

Most definitely not.... Until we don't have to insert these massive Jepp paper revisions, I don't have an I-PAD!!!

In July 2000 I was sitting in day 1 ground school for 777 FO. The fleet captain swore up and down that we had bought Dell laptops for ALL pilots to replace Jepps and flight manuals, and that they were delivered. The 320 fleet was getting them in 1 month, 777 fleet the month after that.

Don't hold your breath.............
