If you dispute that the list presented won't be the majority of the first waves hired, than you should be running for office.

Funny how people react to the truth by attacking the one that speaks it. The supposed leaders of this country have really rubbed off badly on the rest of society.

United, "there looking for something special, trying to mix it up, everyone around here is the "same", you know what I mean".
Good luck to all you "special people", you don't really need anything but the basics. Congrats.

Well, I'll tell you I fit into one of those categories, and no one at United is calling me.
Also, no where do I see on the United application does it have a place to list any of those "special" conditions.

Ok, let's get back on topic.
The whining about a very few new hires from a supposed special group is really getting old. I fully support them and United's decision regardless.
Let's move on like adults.

Not terrible but enough for them to draw conclusions if they were looking to fill those roles first. I personally know two normal white guys from the 08 group who are on property/waiting for April class date.
Good luck to all interested parties.

FYI, if I fell in the "group" I would take full advantage.
Seriously, I wish you well, I just didn't like his vibe.
Good luck.

It actually does ask your race, gender, and any affiliates "obap, wia, etc."

The last thing I'm going to do is walk into United and hand them a resume, if they get one from me, it will be the same way everyone else gets there's in, through a job fair or from a website.
I wish you luck as well, as I do everyone on this forum, when and where you get a job should come down to each individuals ability and experience, not what they look like. 'Course, I'm also not naive enough to think being 'special' might not help some, I am NOT expecting it to help me.

It asks for this info on AirlineApps, but when you go to the United Application, no where does it show up. I did see the OBAP and WIA affiliate information in the application.
I'm not moaning at all, but just pointing out that just because you're a minority, female or a buddy of someone, doesn't mean you're an automatic for an interview, which was implied by a bunch of guys in this thread.
