Amen to that! If we had progressive leadership at the helm we would have a 100 seat mainline acft order tomorrow to backfill the loss of that Southeast DeathStar feeder flying. But alas, we don't.

[QUOTE=jsled;1315391]US Airways will say bye-bye to our code share and the Star Alliance. Jeff will have to fly our passengers on our jets to PHL, CLT, PHX, and DCA. This will be huge. Fingers are crossed.

Jeffrey doesn't subscribe to the fingers crossed school of management.

Sounds like more raj flying to me

UAL currently has tickets for sale on it's website (CAN to SFO) with flights operated by DragonAir.....which is a OneWorld affiliate who has a code share with Air China, which is a Star partner. As much as I'd like to see outsourced flying performed by UAL pilots, I'm not sure it's a slam-dunk.

If the US Air/AA merger goes down, US Air will be American Airlines. United does not and will not code share with American Airlines. Just like we stole CAL from Sky Team, American will steal US Air from DeathStar. See my post below.

raj flying? What is that? RJ flying? Perhaps some, but not all. This is a scope exception that is going to disappear. simply HUGE.

Q: Are you worried about an American Airlines-US Airways merger?

Jeff Smisek: No. I believe airline consolidation both globally and in US is an unalloyed good for airlines and customers. Too long this industry has been fractured and in disarray, with continual bankruptcies and loyalty issues. All of those are concerns. From United’s perspective, we would lose US Airways in Star Alliance, and that would hurt us. On the positive side, we’d have more consolidation and I personally believe that the benefits would outweigh the cost of losing US Airways as a partner. After going through a merger myself, though, I can say that I would enjoy watching that.
