I was just talking to a sUA bud about the future of United's fleet yesterday and we came to the same conclusion. He voiced an opinion that the 747's will prolly get replaced by the A350-1000, with a mix of some 777-300ER's as a stop gap until the next technological leap with the 777X in the early 2020's. Still too many 737's though.
