United B737 base in SFO & IAD... when?

The red clips are a small reminder of the unity among those of the 1437 who are at L-CAL and wear them. They were intended to foster unity and mutual support WITHIN the group.
Negative attitudes about L-UAL pilots in the IAH school house? Really?
The CAL 737 IAH school house is infested with SCABS at the upper levels, and it is no surprise they would want a homogeneous appearance for all. The SCABS are easy to ID at L-UAL, and I am sure that fact is not lost on those in IAH.
Nothing wrong with a little show of unity among this group. This group has paid a bigger price for this merger than any other. On a recent flight with L-CAL Captain wearing a battle star is a perfect example of this. I am sure he wouldn't be concerned about some negative feelings at the IAH training center either.

If one accepts a position at LCAL, then accept that you are at LCAL. You are no longer at the United Airlines that hired you....
You are no longer at United where:
Your Union negotiated ESOP worked so great...
Your Union's lack of concessions led to bankruptcy...
Your Union's poor negotiations led to your retirements being stolen...
Your Union brothers and sisters sold you down the river and gave in to scope and parked all the 737s....
All of which put you where you are today.... It was not the employees of LCAL !!
So go ahead and proudly wear your useless UAL wings claiming that the company only gave you one pair. (We all are given one pair)
Continue to wear your "consolation prize of a leather jacket" (exchanged for your pensions) with pride...
Wear your red tags and segregate yourselves....

Probably expects the company to pay for the red ink he used to color it also.... "because at United...." blah blah....

ALPA not "Your" Union as well?

BTW, if you think that LUAL's pilots didn't approve enormous concessions prior to BK then you are truly uninformed. It turns out that pilot labor costs were only one part of the puzzle. But, if you do want to do some reading on LUAL history I'd start with management's goal for LUAL pilot labor costs prior to, and during, bankruptcy. (Hint: it wasn't FedEX or Southwest.)

There were a few red clip guys that brought some attitude... so wear the the red clip if you want... as I said it isn't that big of a deal...

The red clip has nothing to do with being part of one group. It has everything to do with making sure no one mistakes you for bring part of another group. After hearing for years as a CAL plane taxis by, "those guys are scabs," the cognitive dissonance of now actually being a CAL pilot, albeit temporarily, has got to be odd. Add the the fact that the ALPA pin is meaningless in this regard on the CAL side and you've got a problem. My bet is the red clips will remain forever and will be worn by all LUAL pilots to make sure they're not identified with that "other group." And, given the circumstances of how Lorenzo and his allies destroyed a once proud airline, who could disagree.

It's humorous, when crossing paths with the "red club members", they look down at your ID and if it's not red,... then no acknowledgment or a simple hello....
In the club then different story....
It's just the beginning.... wait and see.
