Hair gel, a back pack and an iPod! What else!

these 500 are the total so far? (ie since they started offering CAL jobs to furloughed UAL pilots)

this is not the number of those that already accepted upcoming classes, as they mention "available class dates"?

I think the actual number is slightly higher, but yes, it is inclusive of those presently on the property and those who have accepted an upcoming class date.

Buddy just decided to come back and is in the March 12 class. His class is composed of 8 L-UAL guys and 8 "poolies" from the last hiring cycle. 12 737s and 4 757s.

FWIW, he said it sounded like off the street hires (not in the pool) could be starting as early as late April but I don't have the source for that comment.

Do certain recommendations weigh higher than others as far as getting called? For instance, do they usually call guys with recs from CPs or other managers first as oppossed to guys who just have recs from line guys? Just trying to figure out how long it will be before they start calling us "average" types. Until then, on to the next job fair :-)

FWIW, United got rid of the sim in interview a long time ago. back in 2001 if you got an interview you were pretty much hired unless you said something really dumb. The interview was with a CA and an HR person. Basic Qs with some TMAAT Qs and a few tech questions from the CA. And the famous mental math questions. That was it.
Also, I got hired with no rec letter. (and yes i'm an Average White Guy)
only bad thing was I got hired 5 months before 911.

new process... who knows
