He is the captain, by definition, there are no wrong decisions.... |

As has been pointed out, there is my story, your story, and what really happened, so we'll probably never really know. Hope for the captain's sake that his decisions were deemed reasonable. |

Just like the federal government, there is no molehill so small that a FA can't turn it into a mountain. If memory serves, it takes 3 or maybe all FAs to agree that a passenger has been disruptive enough to have the passenger pulled from the flight. Either this captain overreacted, or he was given really bad information, or both.

You don't make command decision bases on the democratic system - You get the best information you can and base your decision on that. Don't be afraid to make a decision cAPTAIN they pay you for that.
My point is simply that our FOM requires agreement between the FAs before they take it to the Captain. Then it becomes entirely his decision. However, he is utterly at their mercy because he has no way to assess the situation himself. I have to ask if you understand the Queen's English? What about my post indicated to you that I am afraid to make a captain's decision? I merely pointed out that either he got bad information from the FAs, made a bid decision, the lady was lying, or some combination of three. |
Doesn't matter what the truth is, it's a good news story.

CRM came about due to accidents caused by "captain worship". |

"We understand that airline captains can and should have complete authority."
Well they ended their arguement with that one.. |

I've seen plenty of wrong decisions made by captains.
