Frank Lorenzo reference
Funniest part of the SLI transcript released today....
The CAL pilot was telling a wonderful story about how great CAL has always been. He started out with Varney stories, and then mentioned that CAL was even the SECOND airline to operate the 707! WOW! He was covering all the great history (except a little amnesia from about 1983-1993). At one point, he couldn't come up with a name and the lead arbitrator said "it wasn't Frank Lorenzo...was it?" It was so beautiful. The arbitrator was like "dude, you forgot an important part of the history....but WE know about it". Classic. |
So? Has that anything to do with SLI?
Are your scabs better than our scabs? |

Are your scabs better than our scabs? Most of what they presented today has NOTHING to do with SLI. As far as scabs go, there is a big difference between UAL scabs (who were about 10% of the pilots after the strike) and CAL scabs (who were 100% of the pilots after the strike). At UAL, our scabs have been miserable for 28 years. At CAL, they have had a pretty good time developing your culture and hiding out in the training department. Pretty big difference, but a little too much of a thread drift.:p |

It's akin to a 70 year old former beauty pageant winner prancing around taunting and laughing at everyone while she's she herself is a wrinkled old prune. It's one thing to discuss our opposing views, but the taunting and generally arrogant and disgusting behavior has gone up a few levels the past few days. Hopefully, once the SLI is complete we can all go back to whining about PBS, ALPA, etc and ease up on each other. |

RE: the 17th transcript
.....and another dumb part was every time they talked about CAL Lite they had to include Shuttle and TED....it's like watching kids fight it out in the back seat who is going to get some ice cream. Bottom line is BOTH airlines SUCKED at different times.....and probably will SUCK together in the future. ....first 707! (actually it was Pan Am) Ha ha ha! Golly gee! What about UAL the first one to buy 727's with EAL? How about UAL the launch customer for the B777? Does it forking matter? |
