UAL hiring in the 1990's
Direct quote from a UAL MEC editorial regarding UAL hiring during the late 90's,
"At United Airlines the new hire Flight Officer position often goes to the best liar, as opposed to the best pilot."* |

Flaimbait alert....
Please ignore the posting from our spiky haired, action hero wannabe friend... I was posting this to counter the nonsensical garbage being spewed by several LUAL posters claiming that LUAL only hired the cream of the crop. |
I admit that this post is not contributing to the ultimate goal of "team harmony" with the new UAL pilot group and I apologize. After reading through the various SLI threads and seeing this misinformation and out right insults I felt the need to counter. I apologize for falling into the trap and ask that this thread will be interpreted in such light.
Chris, your posts are insulting and very inflammatory. Attacking the LCAL pilot group is not going to get you or any other pilot a better position on the SLI nor is it going to encourage a CAL pilot to petition our MEC on your behalf. Regardless, the chest pounding on APC is really only making the situation worse and creating unnecessary animosity between our pilot groups. |
Everyone needs ask yourself if your wife, kids, or mom and dad, would be proud of how you conduct yourself on this site. Especially given the fact that you are supposed (maybe, anybody can be on here I guess) to represent mature professionals responsible for people's lives on a daily basis.
Poking around on this site in the various forums proves to me that some of the most miserable pilots in the industry, are some of the ones with the so called best job in the industry. Go figure. |

FYI, never interviewed at LUAL and never wanted to. CAL was my first choice and I'm thankful that it has worked out here. Good luck.
And you wonder why you cal guys have such a bad reputation. The only cal pilots to make cal their first choice were Lorenzo's boys. Are you saying that's when you got hired? |

Why are you so spring loaded to insult and accuse someone of being a scab? You have zero evidence to make that claim! You must be intentionally trying to create animosity, because your posts have nothing constructive to contribute. And NO, I am not anywhere near a scab. I was hired at CAL when it was rated the best to work at, the best to fly on, and the best managed airline - 2007. However, I had nothing against United and thought it was a good place with good people. |
