Motch,

I should have been more specific... I was discussing wide body captain slots for the United furloughees is no longer an option with the CAL LIST. we will not be able to get ahead of the young 2005-2010 Cal guys ahead of us.

Doesn't really matter what a pilot can hold based on the actual bids. What matters is what the "stovepiped" category and class works out to be. CAL clearly has a few individuals willing to trade QWOL for money of that there can be no doubt. The bidding patterns at UAL are not the same in this regard meaning on average UAL pilots prefer QWOL to money. Goes back to that thread I started regarding cultural differences. Clearly the two pilot groups have major differences philosophy both at work and at home. I still can't get over this acceptance of training by home based computer programs that seems to be a permanent part of our future. What a shame.

What could they hold in March 2010? The arbitrators are likely to give more weight to that.

Agreed..
Which does ask the question, what could the most Senior UAL nonVol Furlough hold?!

What would the most junior Vol Furlough hold, and how many other pilots would it have bumped down or onto the street?

Either way, we can speculate all we want.. it's slowly coming to a close. A few more weeks of 'back and forth' and then we'll all get to sit back and wait till the Arbitrators come up with their ruling.

I'm betting a ruling before Labor Day Long Weekend/UCAL Senior Manning on all BES's Weekend (LOL)

Amen~

Hopefully the positives of their respective cultures will carry over and merge into the combine pilot group.. and the negative go by the way side.

Both Sides do/did bring some positive things to the table. Hopefully after Aug/Sept (or when the SLI comes out), we can build and move forward.

PS> I'm fine with some home based Computer training.. not just at 1:4 ratio. Should have been like Delta, 1:2.
