A working entertainment system sure is nice on a 5 hour flight.
3300 X 10 hours round trip (assuming West coast) is 33,000 hours flying to Hawaii alone. Plus all the Atlantic crossings. How many hours can a person fly in a 35 year career?

Half of my "crossings" were from down under or Asia. And, I think most of us pilots that actually fly those routes consider them crossings. I didn't bother adding the 600 plus North Atlantic "crossings" in the last 30 years. Not once did I land in Goose and pi$$ off 200 customers because of an old POS B767-300 started shacking. Really?

Rant over.

Your milage may vary.
Good thing we have those new 767-400s in the fleet then. They never shack up or whatever....

Upon nearing age 60 (around 1990), he "discovered" an old family Bible that had his "true" birth certificate inside it. According to it, he was a couple of years younger than he had always thought. Incredibly, he managed to use it to extend his career at UAL a couple more years and feed at the trough (retiring #1 on the 747) that much longer. That's the story. The particulars I don't know, but it did happen.
