Decoding Bid Awards

Can anyone explain why you have to go thru 205 pages of a bid award to see who got what. Why don't they just put out a simple award sheet like we used to have at lUAL

The final award will, just like the last one did. The snapshots are worthless in this regard as they don't show secondary vacancy awards, and, in this case, the grandfathered 747 ones.

- We aren't UAL anymore
- MGT is CAL, they do what they know...nothing else

- You can see entire Domicile and see where you would be % and # if you should decide to jump into that bid (assumes everyone on the snapshot does not change their mind.

The only thing you'll find on the snapshot is the people that have put in bids for the ADVERTISED vacancies.

So, you can take the published vacancies and cross check them against the roster for that BES. Those are the only changes on the 200+ pages. Instead of posting only the changes, which would be 1 page, they publish the entire airline's roster.

I don't give one flying ##!*& about where I might be when the awards are published. I just want to know who IS upgrading (or downgrading) into to what equipment and base -that's all. I use to be able to do that in about 20 seconds now it takes 3 hours

Does it really matter? I just put the bid in and if I get it I get it, if not then not.

I don't see a reason for the stupid snapshots anyways. When you bid you put in a percentage too, does it really matter who gets what as long as you get the bid that you want in the end.

Bid what you want and want what you bid......that simple...

What you are looking for is called the Final Vacancy Award Summary. It is in FT, Flight Operations Home page, Select scheduling tab on left side, pilot scheduling link. On the page that displays scroll to vacancies, the select the Final Vacancy Award Summary. You don't need to scroll through 205 pages, you just need to look under the vacancy portion of the the scheduling page........

Then perhaps simply ignore these interim snapshots and wait for the final award that includes a summary just like the L-UAL ones did?

Sorry these are your guys not ours. The Pete McDonald, Howard Artarian and all the flight ops management making these decisions are UAL.

Smells like UAL to me. Looks like CAL to me. I don't know who to blame. Doesnt matter. They are who they are now.
