767-400 question and rumor?
So anyone else hear the rumor that we are negotiating with DAL to swap A350 purchase rights for their 767-400s? That's the rumor, the question is: Is it true the 767-400 has e-pubs onboard? The real question is do you carry the full pubs flight bag when you do a 767-400 trip? Last related question, has anyone heard a timeline for the 756 moving to ship sets?
Thanks a bunch, JP |

Thanks a bunch, JP The 764 does not have efb's, the 75 do. We're still required to carry the full flight bag regardless of which aircraft we fly though. |
I wouldn't be so quick to poo-poo a plane swap of the A350 orders. It remains to be seen if Airbus can improve on their A380 production debacle. I imagine that the A350 certification and production will more closely mirror the 787 fiasco.
Yes there are 2 prototypes flying, but the delivery dates are far enough out that anything could happen. I am still confused about why we even have the A350 order. From all indications, the new UAL management is not really an Airbi fan. I would say that we would be more likely to order the new 777X than ever see any A350's. If that is the case, a swap with the 767-400's would be a good deal. Something for nothing. Ultimately the replacement for the 767-400 would be the 787-10, and that is a long way out. The 787-9 prototype only just started flying. |

The 787-8 is already a more capable airplane than the 767-400. It carries more people, farther, and more efficiently.

I'd be really surprised as the 767-400 is the airplane DL loves into the airport it loves most, LHR. Anything's possible I guess although I think an airline like DL would be able to get any airplane it wants from a manufacturer without having to trade anything for the rights.

FWIW the rumor is the 764 sim at DENTK is going away, soon.
