Referring to the 757 CAP bump:
Ok, on the other BAT thread I asked the question; what the flying was like on junior reserve. I bet this guy can hold a line (but not sure). Why would he move into a shrinking base that will not fly international anymore?? Even if he can commute to a line are they commutable?? I am looking to either go 737 or 757 IAH. Just wondering why 757 over a lot more quality (maybe) 737 lines. |
Once you have tasted the magic jelly bean of long-haul international, it is very hard to go back to work. The 737's work pretty hard. The 757/767 international is a halfway house back to reality....
|
Dave I was told on the BAT thread that the 757 IAH will not fly international. So how does that apply?
737's dont fly hub to hub? I thought that's all we do! |
Hey, I cant figure everybody out.... this is just 1 guy. So maybe he is moving to IAH and has a problem flying a "guppy".... who knows.

You mean like the RJ style small cockpit or the 7 legs a day RJ type flying for bottom of the barrel payrates?

"If, after six (6) Bid Periods following the vacancy award effective date or date of displacement, training has not begun, you shall be released from work obligation and paid reserve guarantee. You may instead elect under these circumstances to continue receiving a schedule in your current Category. (8-F-10)"

When I flew back in 2009; we just flew hub to hub for the most part on the Airbus. So, I imagine the flying has not changed for the most part. The 757 will lose all its international flying at IAH by this summer. So, Dave's conclusion it is for that type of flying is not supported.
I do not care about putting the gear down 5 times a day. Just pay me and give me a clean bed to sleep the night. Call me crazy; I have been in China the last 5 years! FWI; Its 0217 here in China, and I just finished a 3 day trip. Did a turn in the morning then a 1 leg at midnight. So, I think 737 flying is not a problem for me. At least this hotel had a clean bed. |
