Real time Trip TRADING?? Help!

Ok I need help. (5 out of 5 exes agree)

I understand that the seniority trip trade system is in use until 11am the day before a trip. After that it converts to the Real Time Trip Trading system, and it's first come first serve.

Trouble is, I don't see how to TRADE. I see how to find open time and pick it up, but (on the mobile version at least), I don't see any way to bring my current trip up and select it to trade out of. Does anyone see the ability to do that? It appears to me that in the Open Time pull down you can grab your own trip, but that's not where you trade from.... Or is it?

Second, what's the time cutoff to actually trade/pickup a trip. It seems that pickups can happen almost up to departure time if you beat it being assigned to reserve, although it appears a call to the crew desk is required if it's close in. So is it 15 hours? I see that's where reserves can offer up their trips to be taken, but I don't see any actual "cutoff" where line holders can't pick up it trade trips anymore (used to be 28 hours)

Third, if you ARE doing a real time trip trade, is coverage considered? For example on the seniority trade you can so a 2 day for a 2 day that departs on the same day regardless of coverage. Is that true once we get inside 11am day before mark? (Assuming someone can help me discover how to actually DO a trade with that system).

Fourth, seeing as how we can take a trip from a reserve who has elected not to protect it up until 15 hours prior, is there any way to see what reserves have been assigned? It's kind of hard to pick something up when you don't know it exists in the first place. I know if you have seen a trip that was open, you can see if it was assigned to a reserve by knowing the paring number. But with Unimatic you could simply look at the reserve list and see what pilots have been assigned. Is there a way to do that in CCS?

Ahhhhh hell, I might as well change gears and keep going since I'm asking for help....

Does anyone remember where to find the per diem report that we used to get at LUAL that they now don't print for you? ALPA put out a communique about that but I can't find it now.

THANKS in advance for the help.

I'm on reserve, so I don't trade however... when you look at open time, trips that have been assigned to reserves, will still show up. Indicated by the "resv". I think that these might be trips that have not been protected by the reserve pilot. If you click on the trip, it will show who has been assigned to it.

As for the per diem report, I think it's on Skynet. Employee services - All about me - Payroll - Show More.

One way to see all the pairings and if/what reserves are assigned to them is to modify the url slightly on the Trading, Real Time Trip Trade page,

Change this
https://ccs.coair.com/CCS/PilotOpenTime.aspx......

To this (delete "pilot")
https://ccs.coair.com/CCS/OpenTime.aspx......

Hit enter and it refreshes the page. Now hit the Display Pairings button.

I had the same issue.

An email response from the trip trade desk:

For real time trip trade if you are trying to drop as well as pick up for the next day that has to go through the crew desk. You could use the real time trip trade for just picking up trips.

Thanks,
Trip Trade

Great info except the fact the crew desk is the one who sent me to the trip trade desk when I called to ask. Needless to say I did not get the trade.

If anybody figures it all out, please write it up and post it here.

That's definitely what I was afraid of. So the name Real Time Trip Trading is a farce. It's really Real Time Trip Pickup.

Hmmmm.

From the Union;

per 20-P-4-f all trades in the instantaneous system that include a trip drop are subject to the company concurrence. So yes they can deny it without any explanation. I wish I had a better answer for you. And yes I 100% agree with you it raises the question of why the instantaneous system is called a trading system when it is only a trip pick up system.

Ding ding ding, that is today's daily double question!

Add this to the fact that the last Seniority Based Trade runs at 7am Eastern time for next day trips and the idea that we can trade up until 11am for the next day is a complete joke. Normally four hours wouldn't be a big deal but seeing as most of the sick calls seem to pop in after 7am the day before, that ends up being a lot of potential trades thrown out the window.

This exact scenario happened to me before this trip. A trip that was commutable dropped in at 7:15, equal days, nearly equal time. There was no way to trade so it sat there until 11am and disappeared to an aggressive pickup.

I have an issue with this as well. I did hard time on reserve and know how much it sucks, and am glad it has improved under the UPA. However I think line holders should get first crack at trips for real time trading at least for the first hour and let reserves have the rest at noon. Trading has already been mucked up enough with the seniority trip trade an real time is the only hope for the junior line holders to improve their schedules.
