The 2013 numbers aren't out yet but looking at the 2012 Honor Roll, I'm proud to say that both sides (still separated in 2012) are strong in the ALPA PAC.

For those who haven't joined, I implore you to consider joining. Now more than ever, our profession is under attack from foreign entities who are unwilling to compete on a fair playing field. For those who are ticked off at ALPA, try and see beyond today as all the other pilots unions look for ALPA to take the lead on governmental affairs.

It's less than most pilots monthly coffee bill to join at the highest level and it's done through dues check off.

Toddnel, would you mind posting the names and party of all who received ALPAC dollars. Last time I checked, the majority of the dollars went to Democrats. I bring this up because I want to point something out. We are now in a battle to save our jobs and the first skirmish is with the re-flagged Norway Airline trying to operate in this country which effectively will be "the nose of the camel in the tent" of cabotage. We have a Democrat controlled Senate and White house and we are fighting this intrusion. Why are we now trying to defend out jobs to a government that was elected with ALPA-PAC money and is now considering to allow this??

The list of politicians that received PAC monies is located on the Alpa PAC website. Mostly dems, but a lot of republicans too. The PAC doesn't contribute to either party, it contributes to specific candidates. Remember that the pac's donation are only a small fraction of the money they receive. They are probably also getting money from groups with competing interests. Believe it or not, not every American cares about our well being. Their are plenty of other interests ( aircraft manufacturers, tour companies, banks, etc) that stand to gain from airlines such as Norwegian.

You are correct about nobody caring about Airline Pilots because we are targets to any group professing income redistribution. Our enemy can come from any party and since the Democrats are pulling the strings now I blame them for failing to protect Labor against Cabotage.

It doesn't matter what side you're on because right now it's the total ineffectiveness of Congress that's killing us. This stalemate that they have created by fighting each other at all cost has cost us all dearly. The ALPA PAC is the only organization I agree with right now as they will support whoever supports us.

In case you haven't figured it out, we aren't rich enough to benefit from being Republican and we are too rich to be a Democrat. Both parties want to take our money but neither wants to benefit our demographic. Until there is a third, moderate party we are screwed, might as well try and save our careers.

13% of ALPA members have last year, kinda pathetic. I am glad to say both our groups were high in the list of givers before the merger and will be probably the largest together.

Todd and ALPA are correct on this one. The threat from abroad has become to great to ignore. The CEO of NAS flat out said that putting thousands of US airline employees out of work was an acceptable consequence for in turn providing the marketplace with LCC long haul via their back door schemes. Take a small chunk of your profit sharing check and sign up for ALPA PAC.
