Yup. Been offering 200% pay since 20 Dec pretty much. On reserve so it doesn't matter to me, but they fly us to FAR/UPA limits, whichever comes first.

Excuse my ignorance, but how does this 200% pay work on Reserve?

It's not normal. That's why I said, on reserve it doesn't matter. However I have heard they've occasionally gotten desperate enough to offer 1.5 to 2 times rate to a reserve who will fly on a day off.

United has ready reserve? Is that what 'field standby' is? Is that a carry over from Continental? I can't imagine a major carrier having that provision in 2014.

LCAL had it in the contract, but I never saw it used in over a decade. Since this UPA section was implemented on 1 Jan it has become routine. No theories on what caused the change other than abuse, but something's changed.

In the old L-UAL contract, they had to pay 4 hours credit for a field standby, so they seldom used it. It doesn't really cost them anything now.

Do guys actually get used often when sitting field standby? Are they the first used or just in case a normal length callout wouldn't work?
