Return from leave of absence latest....

I am returning from a long term leave of absence. I know there are quite a few people doing the same right now. There are currently a few differences for LCAL and LUAL. I'll put the few I know and would appreciate any info guys can give me on helpful items for return or add the info they know.

LCAL calls CPO and let's them know there preference aircraft.
LUAL calls the pilot service center in Chicago. The PSS doesn't seem to be smooth for the few guys I've talked to.

All need a drug test prior to class if you've been out for a long time.

Need Medical before class date start.

Getting new uniforms? Ipads?

If somebody on the 787 could chime in with the latest info, it would help me a lot. I.E. IAH/Miami training center usage? Do we need a pubs bag on the 787 or is there the Ipad with ship sets? Etc. Thanks again. Can't wait to see everybody out on the line again.

Depends on "how" you return...
If from Mil Leave process is smooth... You choose an acft you could have held (bid) during period on mil lv (not furlough). If other LOA you are treated like new hire for acft (if from furlough to a LOA.

None of this for me. I came back from a very long LOA and went right back to the seat I was in, not treated like a new hire.

Also no drug test either.

Long term voluntary can return to the seat they left or seat they obtained during a normal bid.

REDOC is done in Denver and you'll get fitted for the new uniform there, and you'll get your iPad on your first day of class.

Thanks for the answers and heads up. I am returning from mil leave. Will I go to Denver for redoc, then 787 training in Houston or Miami? Does everybody do redoc in Denver? How long is the redoc? Thanks again guys.

i can't speak for everyone, but for my wife, a 09/98 hire that took a voluntary furlough in 05/09, decided to take the recall and returned with a new hire class on 02/04/14. She was required to take a drug test prior to the class start, and also had to take the ATP written on her own prior to the class (she was a 320 F/O with no ATP when she took the furlough).

The first day of class was the bidding. She chose the 73 out of EWR rather than returning to the 320 in ORD. As guppyflyer said, in DEN, she was fitted for her new uniform and received her iPad 2. She was in indoc at DENTK for two weeks then went to IAH and has been there, with one rescheduling, ever since. She should been done by now, but after the schedule adjustment, she still has a few more weeks.

However, for her last week, including her check ride, she will be in MIA. Then it's 'IOS' and 'IOL' in her schedule (with no current assignments) through the end of April.

They don't line-check locally out of EWR?

Her last two days of training states 'PRI SYS LOE' and then 'PS ETOPS LOFT.' Then she'll have EWR based IOS and IOL.
