Reserve Question
 

I am a new hire, and in my second month sitting reserve on the 737. I am trying to figure out how the assignment pickup works on CCS. If we are not able to bid on field standby or short call until 11am EST, then why when it appears on CCS, some of the assignments are already picked up by reserve pilots? I have been trying to pick up a field standby, but I am unable because somebody always picks them up before I am able to bid on them. Thanks!

I feel your pain. It's most important to start with the fact, that unlike the former legacy United system (trip trade with open flying using the Unimatic Computer, there is no audit trail, which means you can't go back in and figure out what happened. I personally feel there are a lot of strange things going on with the trip pick-up system. Having said that let me say that Reserve Aggressive Pickup window opens at 1100 the day before the trip is scheduled depart and ONLY lineholders can pick up before that time but when the window opens, it's first come first served
