Shutup and fish!
Just read all the blah blah blah on the other thread!
We pilots are some of the most selfish folks i know....shaped by our seniority system! The '96 hire from Ual is ****ed because he("lost 3 yrs") and they merged in with a guy hired in '99 from Cal. The Cal guy is ****ed because he cant hold Capt anymore. The '98 Ual hire is upset because they "lost 8 yrs" expecting that the '06 hire at Cal should just step aside and give up their seat because thats the way DOH works. The Cal '06 hire is thinking Cal woulda just been rainbows and unicorns for the rest of their career and this merger is total BS. Ual guys claiming junior Cal pilots made a seniority "grab".....nobody else senior wanted the f#$@ing seat! Would those same Ual guys have rather had the Den 737 capt seats go super senior to the Cal side?....after all it is Denver and EVERYbody wants to live there!??! The Cal Iah 767 guys are ****ed because of the Ual metal in their base. The 787 fence is hurting alot more on both sides than it is helping....most of the pain to the L-Ual widebodies its displacing, but looky here: its even hurting guys like me way out in Ewr...every person who bids out to sparky is being backfilled by a senior L-Ual guy. Good luck winning your own argument with somebody who will NEVER see it your way! Now i gotta go pack the cooler.... good boating weekend ahead! |
Only 30 or so years to go.

If you're doing the same thing the day after the merger you were doing the day before the merger, you have no legitimate gripe. It doesn't matter that HIS 8 years of working for "X" bought him a Captain job and YOUR 12 years of working for "Y" bought YOU a F/O job. He is entitled to his Captain job (and the system seniority to continue to hold it...)_ and you remain entitled to your F/O job (and the system seniority to continue to hold it...).
99% of all this SLI BS is that one guy thinks he is somehow entitled to the other guy's job. Yes, I've "been there and done that", twice. |

Someone may have been junior on the day of the merger, but with a great future. The SLI may have changed that...DRAMATICALLY! If 1,000 guys who are younger than you are suddenly senior to you, you've been adversely affected. If you don't get that, I just don't know what to say. |

That's got to be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this forum.

My seniority worked out fine. Just pointing out the stupidity of a remark that I've heard too many times. |
