Inflight rest facilities

What kind of rest facilities do you have on your 8-12 hour aircraft?

TIA

Rest areas required by FAR 117 of course (Class 1-3). :)

Here's the AC if that helps:

http://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/m...r/AC_117-1.pdf

Check out the AC and scroll to the last page, I think this may have been an unintended addition, but to me it's FAA guidance to ensure I get the Rest Area that I'm due!

Thanks, but I guess I should have been more specific with my question. You can fly an augmented flght over 8 hours with a Class 3. Delta currently uses Class 2 & 3 for their 8-12 hour fights on 330-300/767/757. The longer range 744/777/330-200 have Class 1. The latest agreement calls for Delta to convert all the A330s to Class 1 regardless of range.

I was wondering what the other international carriers were using.

WW.. I take it you're a DAL Pilot and asking due to your TA?
If I'm mistaken, sorry~

So here's the deal.
On the 757-200 (LCAL), we get seat 4A which is a lie flat. No curtain and usually someone is sitting in 4B. Company is allowed to sell the seat as full fare or upgrade! (Thanks ALPA for losing the Black & White contract language~)

5-J-1-h For 757-200 aircraft equipped with lie-flat seats, one (1) premium lie-flat window
seat. The adjacent aisle seat shall be the last seat assigned on the aircraft.

Anyhooters.. it's considered a Class 3 Rest Seat.

Yes, we fly 3 man augmented trips with it. Longest being some of the Germany trips and BCN.

On the 767-400 (LCAL), we get seat 7D with a curtain. It is considered a Class 2 Rest Seat.
The curtain is put up by the first pilot on rest, and put down/away by the last pilot. Not too painful and it actually makes it dark and quieter. Only problem is, during service there's alot of movement and noise going around outside of the rest area. (both lavs are back there plus the mid galley).

Recently, we've had alot of LUAL pilots come over to the 756 BES (Base/Equipment/Seat) via a program that the union and company came up with [BAT]. I bring this up because I was able to snag a 767-4 HNL trip the other day. Had two LUAL guys doing IOE. Because of this, we also got seat 1D as a rest seat. This meant that we were a Class 3 Rest Seat. Limited our duty day.

Not sure what is happening on the LUAL 767-300's. Hopefully one of them can answer.

Hope this helps and would love to see what the DAL TA2014 is all about.

Always
Motch

L-UAL 757's don't fly augmented.

LUAL 767-300's, (former TWA orders, and 52K engines, and winglets) have a lie flat 1st class seat in the middle with the 2 aisles on either side, certified as class 2 rest with a curtain. It is not good as stated, lots of noise and carts and loud flight attendants that bump into the seat while you are trying to rest.

How it was certified as class 2 I have no idea, very difficult to get meaningful rest. Currently flying this plane a lot to Europe. Longest legs SFO-CDG-SFO averages 12 hours.

The other earlier 767's without winglets have a different cabin, and I think also a lie flat first class seat, but I'm not sure if it's any good.

Original L-UA (64xx nose numbers & no winglets) 767-300s were the first to get the upgraded international premium seats and a have a really nice FC seat with a thick curtain.
