Things I learned from CAL F/A's

I saw some comments about silly stuff F/A's say and I thought I'd share some wisdom imparted to me...

-United was bankrupt and CAL saved us by buying us. (Um...no)

-UAL went bankrupt after the employees bought the company and gave themselves big raises. (Nevermind that the F/A's didn't participate in the ESOP and we had to fight for contract 2000)

-CAL had a better F/A pay rate in 2007, so that means anybody working at UAL was an idiot who couldn't do basic math. (It's so simple...just pick the company with the better pay rate and your career is set in stone!)

-United management is ruining Continental. (what?)

-United F/A's don't want to work efficient trips (Ever check the seniority of the 3 day trips to China? Those folks have been around since the Nixon administration.)

F/A's say the darndest things.:D

Any UAL F/A wisdom would be appreciated!

One I keep hearing from L-CAL F/As...
The reason that flight attendants are now separated from the pilots on most overnights is because the L-UAL pilot's wives wanted their husbands to not stay at the same hotel as the flight attendants ...

Funny. That one actually started at delta.... The "Delta wives Club" .... Separating our untrusting hubby's from the, shall we say, "floozys" in the back.

Too bad all the crews from all the bases stay at same hotel while international ... Often with another 2-4 addionational airline crews.

Most ironic part of talking to FAs is they only think the way to make more money is to work more hours. The thought of higher hourly rate or guarantee is beyond them.

I had one say "I should make more money than you. You only fly the 767 while I fly the 737, 747, 777, 787...."

I thought about saying "we could replace you with a coke machine", but I decided that would be too mean. :D

(OK...just having a little fun here. I really like our F/A's)

Another wildly ignorant comment by a FA. While LCAL front and back crews did actually flew entire trips together for many years when monthly schedules were built from prebuilt lines, contract '02 ushered in PBS for pilots and that went away. Concurrently, the company (and FAs) also realized they could fly a lot more if they weren't tied to pilot FAR duty and rest requirements. An unintended result is that this hyper productivity so to speak is now a very contentious contract issue between the LUAL and LCAL FA groups.

We had a lot of "Dean Martins"......but not very many "Jacqueline Bissets".

LUal pilots didn't ride in the same hotel van as LUal fa's. This lady said I was the first LUal she'd seen ride with them. Omg.

I always here this...I come back and say hello and the the first thing the FAs say is you must be CAL pilots.....LOL....They say the funniest things....I notice the agents all over the system say the same thing after greeting them with a smile and a good morning.....Crazy....

Other FA comments - Heard telling the Captain that's she's senior to him because she was hired before him, as she cuts infront of him checking into the hotel.
