Which he doesn't actually do. He usually posts a couple drive-bys and then disappears, not addressing anything that people actually ask him.

I'm not going to defend him or his quality of posts. He has stayed with some threads and endured the verbal bombardment.

Yes the forum can be rather harsh but there is a lot of information to be gathered if one can cut through all the chaff.

I don't see any usefulness in that forum for me personally! It's the same DHeads that go on day in and out arguing about the same b.s. And how bad life is at united and such. Bla bla bla. Especially that bloviating Brit what an a hole!
This forum is much more level and civilized! If your a new hire my advice to you is to stay away from this abomination of a forum. Personally I'd I were to judge LUal pilots by this forum I would hate them all. Fortunately the guys and girls I've flown with are complete opposites of the personalities on this absolute useless forum!

I've never met the Brit. I saw him sitting in Ord ops taking a rashing of chit many years ago during bankruptcy from some very senior pilots. He listened and calmly responded to their concerns. He's knowledgeable and might be a pitbull, but he's a United pilot I would want in my corner when needed.

Based on his "online" persona you can have him! And that joke of a forum.....

"That forum" contains three times the fact based info as this one. It can be a tough crowd, but there is much to be learned from many of them. It's most obnoxious offenders have been given the boot...and scabs are not permitted.

I flew with Neil once when he was a bus Captain. Top Notch. You might be surprised to fly a four day with him.

The UAL Pilots Forum is obviously the only real United pilots forum for many of the reasons stated and more.

To recap,

United pilots only.

It is a free, not-for-profit forum that does not distinguish based on pilot backgrounds.

There is far less moderating done than on this or other forums.

There is no union oversight or interference.

Pilots are identified by their names so there is personal accountability.

Total posts 152,126 | Total topics 9,959 | Total members 2,199 | 3.5 years in operation

I find it interesting that those who are critical of it are simply unwilling or unable to participate in such an environment in which one's arguments stand or fall on their own merits. It is pretty obvious that many pilots are simply not used to their opinions and arguments being scrutinized by such vigorous debate that is actually the ultimate form of CRM. My guess they far prefer pontificating under the cover of this forum's anonymity or one populated with only one, like-minded segment of the pilot group.

What a shame.

Belittling, belligerence, and intransigence as CRM. Wow.

As if that doesn't happen here or on any other forum?

At least on The United Pilots Forum pilots put their name behind what they post and all United pilots are welcome.
