Calls after the year wait...

I'm sure that buried in some of these "who's got the call" threads that someone has gone into detail about how the process happens after the year wait from being told try again next year. Can someone save my eyes the strain of looking for that "needle in the hay stack" and maybe give me a little insight.:( I recieved my email on the 12th Sept I believe. What's the chances that a call will come within 3 months of that date? Is it a good thing to have already interviewed or is it a you've had your chance and we'll get back to you when we can? Thanks ladies and germs...

What a coincidence, so have I!

If we would drink only distilled water, or rain water, and only pure grain alcohol then there wouldn't be a problem with the purity of our essence.

Loco,

If you were told try again in one year the process is simple. Keep your app updated. Your application will be put into the system and placed based on the point system that has been in place the whole time. If you haven't gone to a hiring conference or meet and greet with a CP I would recommend that. It will help.

Based on the previous criteria that you were called on you should be in a good spot. It doesn't mean top 100 but not bottom 4000 either. I know of two facing the same situation and they should be getting called in the next 3-6 months.

Hope this helps.

"Mandrake, have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?"

One fellow went through at least 4 interviews before getting hired. When the waiting period is up, your previous efforts are not held against you. I'd say that as long as you keep your app up-to-date, your chances are pretty good, especially if you can somehow add something to it (new position, leadership role, etc.).

Good luck...

Don't kid yourself... Everything is taken into account... To include past employers and how many times you applied and what phase you didn't pass...

BrasiliaFlyer 11-03-2014 08:17 PM

Didn't pass the Hogan... Is that going to hurt my chances?
Any suggestions for preparing to take it again?

You are eligible again in 12 months...I understand time line might be shortened to 6 months. It only hurts your chances in that it sets you back that period of time. If you fail a second time, they will not process your application any further. I know quite a few guys who have passed on the second attempt.

I don't think you can really prepare for it. If you answered truthfully, you are doing it correctly.

Good luck next time round.

Thanks! I hope to get called back soon!

After the one year wait, should I select YES for the question that asks if I've ever interviewed with United or Continental if I took and didn't get past the Hogan?
I feel like I was still in the screening phase, not necessarily the interview phase.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is in the know!

WantTheJob 11-07-2014 04:00 PM

Ditto!!! In need the answer to that as well.

Shrek 11-07-2014 06:08 PM

I would think that as long as you did NOT interview and take a SIM ride then you would be correct. I haven't met a guy on the property that doesn't think the Hogan is a big piece of HR/Psychobabble crap !!

Good luck at the call......

workingforfree 11-08-2014 06:18 AM

If one just went as far as the Job Fit Assessment (Hogan), I would say no, do not mark the "yes" to the question "have you interviewed with United or Continental?"

WillieNelson 12-23-2014 05:49 AM

Any other folks do the Hogan retake recently?

Haven't seen much discussion of recent Hogan takers..... must be the Holidays.

BrasiliaFlyer 03-27-2015 07:40 AM

Bump.

Anyone get the hogan retake? If so, when did you originally take it?

WillieNelson 03-27-2015 09:47 AM

I finally got the re-take at the end of February. My initial Hogan was September 2013. Still haven't took the test and got an email today asking if I got it/or if I was still interested.

kpcarl0 03-27-2015 10:13 AM

For you guys waiting, I'm an example of second time's a charm, so keep at it. From the time I received the "still interested?" Email to Hogan was roughly two weeks. 1 month to interview, CJO the following Wednesday---decision boards, allegedly are every We'd and they start making calls that day, if you are hired. May be running into training delays now, so don't necessarily throw in the towel if you didn't get called yet.

What's the "still interested email"? I took the hogan 18 months ago and nothing...

SilverLake 08-27-2015 08:49 AM

Whelp got the news!! Received the COE or CJO whatever you want to call it. My story for those that are in my shoes....

Interviewed in early 2013 when United first started hiring. Got the devastating TBNT email, ugh! Wasn't called back until over 2 years later from date of original interview. This time around it went as follows....Received initial email, then Hogan assessment next day(was in my junk mail so keep an eye out). Invite for interview the day after that, and sim prep and interview one day after the other 3 1/2 weeks later. Civilian regional capt with they typical stats everyone else seem to have. Seriously, the best day of my life! The best!! Good luck...
