But importantly the bids are based on Manpower requirements. There is no set timetable for vacancy bids so during times of "movement" there will be lots of bids while there can also also be longs periods with only minor bids (recent example: the "shadow" when the retirement age changed to 65 while the LUAL fleet was simultaneously static.)

No doubt. They were shocked when the pilots in Denver didn't follow the plane and chose to bump to the guppy and not commute. Why would they be shocked? Isn't that pretty much what happened when the yoinked the 400 out of Ord to "make it more reliable?"
