It will be interesting to see how senior the LAX 78 FO slots go. Last time they had jr. Capts bidding into LAX 78 FO. SFO and IAH not so much.

That would require more than an "evolving plan".

We used to do 2 large ones at L-CAL per year....essentially winter and summer. My understanding is the new onsie- twosie monthly approach is adopted from L-UAL no?

Essentially, yes.

But importantly the bids are based on Manpower requirements. There is no set timetable for vacancy bids so during times of "movement" there will be lots of bids while there can also also be longs periods with only minor bids (recent example: the "shadow" when the retirement age changed to 65 while the LUAL fleet was simultaneously static.)

No doubt. They were shocked when the pilots in Denver didn't follow the plane and chose to bump to the guppy and not commute. Why would they be shocked? Isn't that pretty much what happened when the yoinked the 400 out of Ord to "make it more reliable?"

More United 747's coming to SFO - TravelSkills

"...the 747 operation focused on SFO where maintenance is will help improve reliability...The bad news is coach still sucks."
