Thanks for your thoughts, cadetdrvr. Nice to have some of the history....I guess it is not all about the hotel itself.

Watch having an opinion around here:D. I had guys checking for my name against a scab list when jumpseating. I am 40. The 12 angry men is why I spend more time on the other website.

Welcome bro, take heed, the old crusty dudes are retiring every day.:D

I have been to MEX many times in my first year here. I like the Krystal now that I have recently had captains show me local bakeries and awesome restaurants. You gotta know where to look, but makes a big difference. If nothing else, their room service is very good.

Thanks for the info, CRM114. It's nice to have a voice. I will file a PDR tomorrow. As a new hire, and a reserve pilot, I spend a lot of nights in MEX, and would much rather take a few extra minutes to go to a nice hotel in a nice place. Thanks again!!

"Few minutes"?? Krystal was never more than 30 minutes. We spent 1:40 in traffic going to Santa Fe and it wasn't even rush hour.

Anyways, looks like back to reforma...this is a good win.

I have stayed in the Krystal Reforma several nights, and now the Hilton Sante Fe. I have been in dirty rooms at the Reforma, and personally don't care for the area. The Hilton Sante Fe (although perhaps not technically "core downtown" is in a much better area physically (on a hill out of the smog), and sits atop a large shopping mall with plenty of food options, and is much more comfortable. What am I missing?? Why is being in the "core downtown" more important than our comfort?

As was pointed out by a couple of others, we were moved out of the Krystal Reforma due to deterioration of the property over the years and now a renovation.

The Hotel Committee, along with the company, inspected and approved the Hilton Reforma for the new hotel. However, the company unilaterally moved crews to the Hilton Santa Fe which was not approved by ALPA, one of the reasons being the drive time. Looking at pictures on the websites, they are both nice, but the company did not follow the process established for choosing a hotel. This is why a hotel dispute was filed and an expedited hearing was held to resolve the issue. The case was decided in ALPA's favor and crews will now be using the Hilton Reforma...as originally agreed to during inspection.
