DEN to TK Shuttle

I'm an idiot and cant remember where to pick up the shuttle at the airport and how often it runs. Can you tell I'm new? Any help is appreciated!

15 and 45. Most forward area from UA baggage (red) in between island 3 and main drop off. Guess that's island 2.

West side.. Third island I think...

JetBlast77 10-13-2014 09:05 AM

Thanks very much!

If you are new, the vans aren't very-well marked. I look for similar lost-looking souls milling about.

In Aug and Sep, it would stop at the last turn-in, island 3, west side of the building.

I can't remember what company livery is on the van, but it isn't very prominent.

i'd usually ask the driver, to be sure.

White van with "Horizon Coach Lines" on the side. Logo is partial blue and gold sun.

Good luck on the probation ride.:D. They messed mine up last month so I am now in grace next month. Maybe they screw up again and I dequal for December.:)

intrepidcv11 10-14-2014 01:51 AM

So in order to avoid demonstrating 'scab like tendencies', do you have to tip the van driver for each ride from the hotel to TK?

Flyguppy 10-14-2014 02:48 AM

Driver handles my bag = tip

No bag = no tip

Bestglide 10-14-2014 03:56 AM

I'm pretty sure it's door 502 then go out to island 2 and its horizon coach and departs the 15 and 45.

I can handle my own bag. I tip a driver of a vehicle for the safe ride, not for being a baggage handler. I also say "Thanks for the safe ride" every time so he knows what its for.

worstpilotever 10-14-2014 10:15 AM

I tip when they throw my crap in the van....except for the lady that got lost from the airport to TK and made me miss the van to the hotel at 11 pm. No tip for her.

Do you guys also tip the bus driver that takes you from the employee lot to the terminal if the ride was safe?

Terminal is walking distance to employee lot. So no bus!

Nice deal when you can get it. But what will u do when you have to ride the shuttle bus in order to enjoy premium WB pay elsewhere? Tip or not?

Probably have to tip double to make up for the scab Captain who won't tip.

Not the norm, by any means at L-UA.

They are paid to get us from A to B safely. Not paid to handle my bag.

Do you load or unload your own bag? Doubtful.

Nice analogy about the employee lot shuttle. And nice avoidance of the obvious by saying "doesn't apply...I can walk!" Whatever.

Do what you feel is appropriate. I do not feel like a scab for not tipping for a scheduled ride to/from the training hotel. I tip if they schlep my bag for me.

None of it matters. I would tip in either case. Its only $1 and my way to give to them for getting me where I need to be safely, bag handling or not.

Absolutely SAD.

Sure agree but see the 1$ tip all the time by crewmembers. Nothing surprises me with the cheapness I see here at United.

I just love it when a coworker tells me how to spend my money. $1 is fine.

Wow you got all that by one post. Just keep giving up your 1$ if you bother with that

John Carr 02-21-2019 03:13 PM

I'll gladly give the guy a buck.

And I'll give the guys that fight on the shuttle $10 a piece.

LOL, I mean, let’s make the ride a little bit interesting. How about everyone agree to tip the driver a buck but we all put in 20.00 to the “winner take all pot”. First one on the bus jots down hire dates and sets up participants based on “good matches ”. 4 rounds and the most senior spectator wearing a red stripe on his/her ID “evaluates”..?That ridiculous 30 minute drive to the DENFTC will fly by !

THEN cross referenced with SLI position. Fighting can be more fun when some agitation/triggering is tossed in.

Maybe not, however the implication is certainly there. “I’ve deemed $2 should be the new norm, so you should follow”

$1 is cheap now. You can’t smoke indoors either!
