I'm a little over 60% EWR f/o. In October I had 3 4-day trips and 19 days off. Liked it.

M5D and the trip rigs have greatly improved the schedules and days off.

Can anyone who is 737 EWR based share their schedules with me from 2-3 months this year? Preferably something from each season so far would be nice.

Don't care if you have been there 1 year or 10 (but would be nice to know). I know YMMV based on the PBS bidding and your seniority in the seat.

I'm trying to determine if I want to finally submit the app or not. My schedule at Spirit is great and while the money is at United, I'm worried my QOL won't be - even living in base.

Hoping your schedules posted will prove me wrong. Any other info you might impart is most welcome.

Thanks.

PM is fine too. Much appreciated.

Would you mind posting your schedule?

You obviously didn't get the gouge on the... um... "favorable" exchange rate. Inflation is out of control and dollars are king there. $20 should have been enough for meals, drinks and big tips for all. Yes, it still sucks and you're stuck in base housing, but if you trade $20 for a "favorable" exchange rate in the local currency, CCS is cheap and sucks less.

I heard about it--after my first time down there. Live and learn.

Noticeably!

Sure. I bid 95% in the left seat. Even being very junior I'm thankful to be able to be home so much. I could deal with 8-9 years away if it meant 20 more getting what I want. That being said..

October I had 15 days off at minimum guarantee (72 hours). Picked up a few turns, to make it 12/86. All month was turns, 0 nights in hotel.

Same thing for November this year. But two nights away from home. Picked up turns again to make it 10/92.

January - April this year was much the same. Only 1 or 2 nights away per month.

On summer months where the trips are all 3 and 4 day trips I don't pickup extra cause I value my time at home with family. Schedules then are generally 14off with 80-85 hours credit.

Thanks to those who provided your schedule summary. It helps. Much appreciated.

And to the comment about Spirit possibly not being around in a few years - you're right, it could happen. Which is why I'm keeping my options open.

I'm not going to apply somewhere unless I'm sure I would say yes to a CJO. I don't want to burn any bridges I may need to cross later on.

We don't do it as much as the FAs (I may never do it again) so I'm surprised they didn't help you out.

Some other stuff: All come with the usual disclaimers about not being able to see into the future in this industry. As long as there's a UAL, EWR will be a major hub... so you'll always be able to drive to work. One day trips go very senior and two day trips are rare, so you'll have to get used to packing a suitcase and being away from the family. There's little doubt in my mind the "smart" move in terms of long term finances and days off is UAL. Having said that, I understand change is hard, especially when you're comfortable and making descent coin like you are now.
