iPads & Apple ID
So United wants my Apple ID to set up my work iPad. I'm just wondering if I should provide my personal account information, or set up a separate Apple ID for work use. If I give my personal account info, won't the UAL iPad be tied into my iPhone/personal iPad? I'm not sure what all the ramifications of that might be, but it seems a little weird to me having a work issued device that is communicating with my personal business.
Anyone have any thoughts/experience with this? What have others done? Thanks. |
IMO, out of privacy concerns, do not use your personal Apple ID on United's iPad. From Flying Together, to turn off the Apple ID request,
"Find My iPad. iOS 7 features an iCloud feature called Find My iPad associated with your Apple ID/iCloud account and password. Please ensure that this feature is turned OFF on the company-issued iPad EFB. If turned ON, you will need to provide your Apple ID and Password should your device ever be lost, stolen or returned." Use the "United iPad Guide — Configure | Enrollment | Reset | Setup" at Flying Together and it shouldn't ask for the Apple ID. |
HB, check your pm.
