Back in the day of over-wing checks 5 minutes prior to takeoff, the standard UAL answer to the check ride question of "Which row is designated in your aircraft for the over-wing check?" was "the row with the prettiest girl," or other description I am bound by the TOS to not use.

Everyone laughed, and it gave you a minute or so more to figure out if it was really row 17, or 18....always got confused, because your first plane it was 17, then you changed fleets...

There is a triangle on the interior of the airplane. That lets you know which window.

Of course. But during the oral, in a room at TK, they wanted you to know which row.

The joke was common on my first three fleets. The triangle was an acceptable answer, as well. ;)

I hope they never asked my students because I just told them to say the row with the triangle.
