New KCM Rules
 

Was reading about the new "no uniform required" rules and ran across this little gem....

Further, pets are not allowed through the KCM access point with the crewmember.

As if?? :D

Damn, and I've been thinking about picking up a comfort monkey too.

They only put it on there because it will happen.

That, would be awesome.

The ADA says you have to let service animals in. It's so much fun when you can sic one federal agency on another.

I'm going try and bring a dog through and when they tell me I can't I'll let him know its my ADA seeing eye dog.

You know FAs are like "hush kitty, get back in the roller board."

You know someone is going to interpret that to mean "Naked is OK."

What? No ***** thru KCM?

Because this:

Wait, the new planes will have one pilot and a dog to bite the pilot if he does anything. If there is a cat in the cockpit the dog could get distracted and not monitor the pilot and he might touch something. Can't have that so a cat is therefore a safety of flight issue.

New KCM Rules
 

Miami turned me away this morning. Said its not until the 15th. Called IAH and they've started. Just a heads up.

I more concerned that somebody will interpret that to mean that you have two choices : "In uniform" or "Naked".

As bad as some of our folks look in uniform, I definitely don't want to see then naked! As they say, that is something you won't be able to Un-see!

Uniforms


Effective January 13, 2015, crewmembers are no longer required to wear uniforms when utilizing the KCM access points at airports nationwide.

Except MIA, where they made it Jan 15th. Pretty soon they will ask "Are you going to work?" and if you say no, they'll say, well you can only go through in civvies if you are going to work.

TSA (Thousands Standing Around) is the most Jeff'ed up organization I've ever seen. The workers don't know the policy, and they make it up as they go.

I had a TSA person who was letting people go through the metal detector instead of the scanner at one airport. She motioned for me (in civvies) and asked to see my boarding pass. I showed her, and she saw my pilots ID. She told me I had to go through the scanner, and I couldn't go through the metal detector. I said "You just let a bunch of people go through there and then you motioned for me to come through too." Her answer was "We were told that crew can only go through the metal detector in uniform. So since you're crew and not in uniform, you have to go through the scanner.

After I went through I asked and another TSA person said they'd never heard that "crew out of uniform" had to go through the scanner.

I always "opt out" of the scanner if I am going through in "civvies" and I ensure that they use a private room to do the secondary screening. I like making their job a little more difficult and besides... I'm recently single and could use a little action now and then.

FYI, I used KCM in civvies early yesterday morning (13th) in SFO and had no issues.

I don't know why you guys bother, I'm just an old retiree with global entry, they couldn't care less what I have with me. Some times they wand my correctional shoes......
