United new hires without 4 year degree
Hello friends,
I would like to know if anyone has been recently hired without a degree....throughout the years jumpseating, I came across many pilots at UAL who were hired without one but am curious if anyone has been hired recently without one...I know it's competitive out there but there must be someone who got in without one recently...Thanks and fly safe....

It's possible, but certainly the rare exception and not the rule.
In 18 years at United I've only met a handful without a degree. I once flew with a Captain who didn't have a degree because his dad died when he was 18 and he had to take over the family business.
(I would imagine that plenty of the SCABS may not have had a degree, as they were hired because they had a heartbeat (but no backbone) and minimum flight qualifications. Hired only to break a strike; not for academic achievement, personality traits or professional acumen.)

Put your apps in and update them when you complete the degree. Put in a remarks section (if available) your expected completion date. You can't predict the calls except that there's lots of hiring going on!
