Default It's official. Dulles 737 base

Latest special message from Howard...

Team:

As you know, our flying has evolved significantly in the past several years due to fleet lifecycle, underlying demand and post-merger aircraft redeployment. It has resulted in a lot more 737 flying out of our IAD base, which led us to evaluate the feasibility of an IAD 737 pilot base. After careful review and consideration, we have decided that the amount of flying warrants an IAD 737 base to support our network. We currently expect to open the base with the July 2015 bid period.

In the near future, you will see a vacancy bid that includes openings for this domicile. We do not have detail to provide surrounding initial staffing levels at this time; our Crew Resources group is working on this based on the availability of training slots and staffing needs. We anticipate starting small and going from there.

We are excited to open this base, which creates new opportunities for our 737 pilots. As a reminder, you will be notified via CCS Priority Message when the vacancy bid is open. If you have any questions, please contact your Chief Pilot Office.

Yes, I think the biggest movement will be out of the 777 F/O in IAD and EWR and the 737 CAP in EWR.

We'll have to see how much they backfill in EWR when the movement starts.

Don't forget the Dulles 67 and Bus Capts that are sick of being junior.
