Some questions about junior pilots at SFO + LAX:

What's the DOH (month/year) for the most jr 787, 777, and 767 FO in SFO + LAX?

And, since SFO is a jr base, how long are FNGs there sitting reserve? How quickly do you get a real line in SFO (and on which equipment?)

Its hard to tell because no products show date of hire. One can only guestimate. As far as reserve, you'll be a Captain before you come off reserve on the 787 and 777. You'll forever have guys coming into base above you. Many wait until they're line holders before they make the move.
SFO:
787 - Late 2014 hire
777 - Early 2015 hire
767- New hire
LAX:
787 - 2013 hire or pre-furlough dude (not much movement between those dates) Most jr FO only 220 away from most jr Capt system wide.
777 - same only slightly less senior.
767 - New hire

Thanks for that info.
Re: reserve, I meant for the NB jets. How long are say, 737 FOs sitting reserve in SFO, before getting a line?

Any answer is pretty meaningless because it's so dependent on off the street new hires. The current classes are filled with a higher percentage of returning pilots so there is not as much movement on the bottom compared to a few months ago. When the pipeline is re-opened full throttle the times will drop very quickly.

How's that for a non-answer?

Do not apply to UAL, or any other major airline, if you are not prepared to still be sitting reserve in five years, ensconced in the left seat, or anything in between. ;)

So just curious everyone that gets on here asking how long reserve is, what's your end plan? Are you not going to apply if we say it's 2 years? Or how about 16 years like after 9/11? How long do you expect reserve to be? Are you going to Quit United if we furlough and you are the bottom guy for a decade?

How about the how quick to hold CA? Or how quick to hold widebody? Is it going to change your mind on leaving your current job? Because it's not going to be either as a new hire, however the quicker you get here the quicker it happens.

Just curious as to what this information provides you.

All I cared about was how soon I would step foot in class.......guess my expectations are low.

Agreed the most important thing is how soon one can step foot in class!
But I haven't been following the pulse of things for a while, so I was looking for a snapshot in time.
I've read posts from some pilots (can't recall which airline) saying they are getting (NB) lines before finishing training. I'd rather commute farther for a line, than commute shorter to reserve. That's all.
Thanks for the 411.

Past performance is no guarantee of future returns, but...

Mid-summer newhires from 2015 were on reserve for 2 months in SFO, weekends-off line holders after 10, and consistently had Fri/Sat/Sun off every week with some Hawaii trips at the one year mark.

Personally, I just wanted to know a few simple facts because I was curious. If you want to answer, then great, if not, whatever.

If you want to turn it into psychological deconstruction of my entire life plan, then I'm happy to have entertained you ;)

And I forgot to mention: they were within a couple hundred numbers of the 777 in the last vacancy, a couple more from the 787.

That should be attainable later this year or early 2017.

Just curious, what percent of trips for DC pilots are out of DCA vs IAD? Are they easily obtainable once off reserve on the 737 or 320? I assume no 756 trips start or end in DCA. Living right in DC, DCA trips would be better then the trek out to IAD.
