Anybody who gets a 75 and wants 737(SFO) or Bus (IAH) feel free to tell SS. I'm in 31 Mar with no 75s and that's what I would prefer. I already told her I would slide +/- for 75

BMan69 03-05-2015 06:45 PM

I'd be surprised if they'd allow a class position trade after the class starts...

I start the 17th and want to be West Coast. The 17th is 12 756 and 7 737s all for EWR. Are you saying I should contact her and tell her I want SFO?

FMS DR 03-05-2015 09:20 PM

djepage - check your PMs

Go to the first available class, take the 737 if you can get it and bid for SFO in the next vacancy.

You will bid in class when you show up - the break down of available slots and bases is not really finalized until the day you bid. Do NOT bypass a class for any reason - seniority is everything.

is it possible to bid a certain base and preference that higher than say which airplane you would prefer? I've been hearing if a new hire wants IAH, the best way to hold it now would be to bid the Bus?

They won't… they have to get approval for everyone senior to the pilot in order to do a trade after a class bid occurs… no side deals until you are on the line in the fleet then you can do a domicile swap with another pilot of same category… those too are advertised.

If one is able to find a pilot to swap bases with, you are saying the swap will be advertised and then it can be blocked from a more senior pilot that may want to take that slot. Is that correct?

ugleeual 03-15-2015 03:48 PM

thats the way I understand the base trade process… they advertise all base trades publicly and someone more senior can snag it… if you want more info might want to check the contract for more details before getting too deep in the process. I haven't looked it up personally as i'm living in my domicile and don't need a trade.

Thanks for the insight! Hopefully we get access to the contract relatively early this week for those of us starting tomorrow. Cheers!

The contract will be on your iPad when you get it later this week

BMan69 03-23-2015 10:52 AM

March 17th Class

FMS DR 03-23-2015 09:16 PM

Looking forward to it!

ChiSox72 03-26-2015 06:41 PM

Anyone have the class drop for this one? Inquiring minds and all that...

Thanks much,
C72

FMS DR 03-27-2015 03:12 PM

Ended up being 7 756 EWR, 7 737 EWR, and 2 320 IAH. The 756 and 320 went fairly senior. The impression I get is that the class equipment/bases aren't really finalized until you actually bid on day 2.

FMS DR 03-27-2015 03:15 PM

In other words, I wouldn't recommend delaying a class date hoping for a certain airplane or base.
