Bozeman

I'm headed up to Bozeman with the G/F for a few days in July. Other than Glacier National Park, any must-sees?

Also, what's the crew hotel there and is it worthwile?

Thanks!

The crew hotel may be the best in the city. By far the 'worst' hotel I stayed at here, was more like a Quality Inn/Days Inn. Not that it was horrible, just really, really, really, really, dated.

The upside was the folks at the hotel were super nice and drove us to the cool down town and we ate at...

MacKenzie River

which was delish. Wasn't there that long, but hope to get a 30+ hour overnight and drive to Yellowstone for the day.

What is the name of the crew hotel?

Float the Madison River between Norris and Ennis.

Trout fishing any river in the area. Mostly browns and rainbows.

Visit Virginia City. Old gold town with lots of charm. Stay at the Fairweather Hotel in town. Supposed to be haunted, but we saw no ghosts the night we stayed. Less than one block walk to 3 excellent bars.

In VC, Check out the Brewery Follies comedy show. Mike Verdon is hilarious.

Also, there's a hot springs in Norris.

There's an app for that!

1. Download the ALPA app.
2. Login with your ALPA # and password.
3. Select the "MEC" logo at the bottom
4. On the next screen, select "MEC Hotel List"
5. You will see an alphabetical list of city codes with hotel information under each city tab.

Excellent resource to use when doing personal travel.

Drive over the hill to Chico Hot springs and spend a night or just pay for a swim (has a swim up bar window). Then tour into Yellowstone via Gardiner Mt.

Glacier NP is a relatively long way from BZN but worth the drive. Driving from BZN to West Yellowstone takes you through the "unknown" Yellowstone which is in the park but out of the fee area. Very pretty road. That route could be part of a loop that includes Virginia City.

I'm curious to know why you haven't mentioned Yellowstone as part of your plans as BZN is a gateway to the park? If you're primarily interested in Glacier NP why don't you fly into FCA which would be the logical gateway to Glacier?
