New 737s

Question, how many new 737s are you guys getting per month? Asking because most ual 737s I see nowadays have the split scimitars and new LED-style strobe lights (new 737 feature.)

A couple a month. The older 73's are getting retrofitted with the scimitars so that's why you see so many. Strangely, the LED strobes are incredibly unreliable. I'm writing them up constantly

Its hard to tell. Originally they ordered 50 737-900ERs for SUAL 757 replacement. Yet today there are almost 70 SUAL 900ers. The order book at the end of last quarter showed 15 deliveries for 2016. Each quarter they seem to be converting 4 options into orders very quietly. So its hard to tell as the target is moving.

Took the first 737-700 in March 1998 and first 737-800 in November 1999.

Anecdotally I fly 90% of the time in 800/900/900ER airplanes. Most of the 700 flying is international/longer legs.

Everything currently going on with the UAL fleet can be found here.

Thx guys, Appreciate the info.

I think our oldest -800 is early '99 as well (we only have -800s.) Interestingly, AA has expressed no interest in the split scimitars....yet.

You see them on everyone else, UAL/DAL/SWA. I've even seen them on Aeromexico, Suncountry and a few others. AA is probably spending that capital elsewhere for now.

Chicks dig scimitars.
