Class timeline help

Gents,

If someone was to start in a class rumored to begin on 14 Nov, approximately how long would training last? I ask because I am pretty sure I'll be in that class, and I just sold my house. I have to be out by Jan 31st, and am trying to make plans for house hunting and moving dates. Luckily the AF still owes me one final packout and I'll have someone at the house to handle that for me. I assume I would be out of training before the end of Jan, correct?

I'd say yes you would be done before then plus i would think you will end up with some time off over thanksgiving and Christmas. Don't waste a second while you are home however, I'd have it packed and ready to roll ASAP.

the lady said 9 weeks I don't know how the holidays play in that figure.

Summer of 2014, Indoc was two weeks.

Some started transition training two days later; some started 4 MONTHS later.

The actual transition course takes about 3-4 weeks.

IOE could start within a week of of your Sim completion, or could take three weeks.

IOE is usually completed in one pairing.

Traditionally, TK is only closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

So, your mileage may vary.

In case you aren't already aware, you can get up to 12 months of NTS (Non-temporary storage) with a military retirement order. (It can be extended too with certain restrictions.) That can be very beneficial for your current uncertainty. That's what I did when I retired. Put all our stuff in NTS and rented a furnished place until I had certainty where I needed to be.

I am aware, but I'm a single dad with grandma helping me out so I have a few other things to take into consideration and have to move point to point basically.

Do we have weekends off during sims?

UAL T38 Phlyer 10-11-2015 11:07 AM

Not necessarily weekends, but generally 5 on; 2 off.
