Default Thanks

A big thank you to the UAL Captain that grabbed my tab from me & paid my $75 booze tab at the Sheraton Downtown Denver last night because I'm a "half-winger"... much appreciated!

Listen to you. If he'd run up a $75 tab at Shotgun's, you'd be accusing him of being too uptight on the night before a day off.

Yes, according to the helpful info sheet they gave me when I checked into the Holiday Inn a couple of months ago. I didn't actually try it though.

I've seen a few new hires with slick ties. Not sure if you played hooky during the alpa brief in indoc, but your safer walking into the chief pilot's office with a clown suit than stepping into the cockpit with a slick tie.

If you have a pin, my beer fund is plentiful.

Was talking to a CA on an overnight he said several FOs he has talked too don't like the half wing and think it's degrading. Especially the pilots that came from other ALPA carriers.

I don't understand it, but if you don't want to wear a half wing atleast talk to your rep about it and get a full wing.

Degrading? It's called tradition. Sounds like a self inflated ego to me.

If they were at another alpa carrier, they should already have full wings and are able to wear it, even on probation.

The half wing signifies vulnerability (no grievance available). To any pilot off probation that should signal to do anything possible to protect them.
