My bullet points

Pay raise: is it 16% over the rates that start on 1/1/16? or 16% over the rates on 12/31/15?

Me too clause: is it just for the 2 years of the extension or until a new contract is agreed to? Somehow I doubt DL will get a new contract within 2 years. Need to see the language. Also it will need to be very specific with regards to pay banding and how it will be implemented.

LOA 25: dont know too much about this, so will leave it to those guys to determine if the amount is enough.

MOU22: Need to ask my widebody buddies if this a good thing. Does it apply to the narrow body guys as well?

FRMS: Same as above.

Scope: No concessions. period.

Reserve: will have to wait to see if indeed nothing was done. Would like to see at least a bone thrown to the folks on reserve.

My default is to vote no, but will remain open until final language is presented.

I have spoken....carry on.

MEC: "Let's throw a bone to the folks on reserve"

NC: "Got it. Bone the folks on reserve."

A pay raise is the most egalitarian of bones .. everybody benefits, be they reserve or line holder, now or in the future.

I agree that RSV rules can be improved… but at what cost? I would argue that most pilots bid an aircraft voluntarily that results in them being on RSV… it was a choice. Can you bid to a different fleet/seat where you can hold a line? Other than a new hires first 6 months (i.e., they don't have a choice) everyone in this airline should be able to hold a NB line at one of the domiciles… might require a move but still available. IMO the two RSV rules that need to be improved is SC Assignments and ability to fly pilots into RDOs. I think both should generate Add Pay.

Dave with all due respect, you bid 777 CAP as early as you could, even commuting to ORD to get it (correct me if I'm wrong). You did this with no inkling that there would be an early negotiation, so you had to figure you would be dealing with this exact reserve system for another 3-5 years. You knew what you were buying with regards to time with the kids.

You fix those 2 exact things and you would never hear another word from me about reserve. If it weren't for those 2 issues reserve here would be acceptable.

I copied this from the other place I had posted it: It fits better here.

I just took a bid to the 777 so I'm one of the idiots going to reserve as a choice. I've bid reserve lines on the 767 when I was above the G-line, as well. I live in base and try to get short calls whenever possible.

Here are a few observations of the reserve system:

1. Moveable days should be eliminated. If the company needs you to fly into days off, there should be huge penalties. At a previous carrier where we had an ALPA contract, we would get 8 hours of encroachment pay for assigned flying on a day off plus 150% pay for what you flew. It made it very expensive for the company and very lucrative for the reserve pilot.

2. Pure short call lines. Short call lines should get paid higher MPG or get more guaranteed days off. It eliminates e headache for the commuters stuck on RSV because the guys who live local WILL bid the SC lines.

3. Publish what the min RSV coverage is daily and make it realistic.

4. Reserves cover flying in their domicile. No more of this system reserve BS. A RSV pilot only gets pulled out of base to cover other domiciles as a last resort...like it used to be in UAL contract.

People say fix reserve, but I've never seen suggestions of what specifically needs fixing. This is my list. Any other suggestions?

A senior 756 pilot can easily make more than a bottom feeder 777 pilot in the same seat. Sometimes, a lot more.

The guy that went to the 777 to be on reserve did it because he can say he flew the 777.

I have done both. Repeatedly. Sorry. No soup for the reserve commuter on the 777. He chose poorly.
