Default LUAL merger committee member for Master Chair

A cabal including John Prater, Jay Heppner, Chris Lynch, Mark Adams and other ALPA lifers are running Steve Gillen for Master Chairman. Are LCAL pilots aware that Gillen was a member of the LUAL Merger Committee? Would having a merger guy as Master Chairman be the right move in unifying the United pilot group and our union? The election is eight days from now.

Why should I (Ex-Con) or anyone else give a damn? He represented his side better than my MC represented my side, end of story. It's time to stop living in the past. I suspect this has more to do with you wanting the other candidate than any real concern about "unity."

Ben Salley wants to run the show and he says he is a unity builder with a track record in Houston - what do you think?

Let's not forget Jay Pierce. He and Jeff made a pretty good team.

It's well past time to keep bringing up who's former anything. We're all UAL now. Judge any candidate on the track record but not where they were hired IMO. I'd personally prefer Todd get elected and have expressed that to my reps, but it's not like we get an actual vote anyway.

I was in C11 under Gillen. I remember being in a meeting when Whiteford was there defending himself from a vote of no confidence that was floored. Despite his speech, it passed. Easily. Gillen was absolutely furious and quite frankly lost his sh%t.

Take it for what it is worth.

I actually agree with you that it should not matter, but it obviously still does for many pilots. I think you would agree that the pilots should know who their elected reps are voting for before the election.

If Mr. Insler is elected, and he starts "fixing all of the unfinished business" of the UPA as he has promised....outside of Sect. 6.....will that be ok? Is it not our duty as professionals to fix all things only in Sect. 6? If a side letter is reached on his watch, will you NO voters vote NO out of principle, again? Or will you be independent contractors? Just curious.
